About

A practice rooted in how developer tools are actually used

Virtual DevTools exists to help product and engineering groups read workspace activity and feature utilization with more honesty than vanity charts allow.

Origin

The practice grew out of repeated product debates where reach metrics won arguments that session depth quietly contradicted. Based in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, we work with teams across Korea and with remote collaborators who need a structured outside reading of their tool’s adoption story.

Working approach

We prefer bounded engagements with clear questions. Exports beat warehouse tourism. Qualitative anchors—support threads, role definitions, known outages—sit beside numbers. Recommendations name trade-offs, including when evidence is thin.

Values

  • Respect for practitioner time inside the workspace
  • Clarity about what measurement can and cannot answer
  • Willingness to recommend retirement as well as promotion
  • Plain language in reports and readouts

People

Engagements are led by analysts with backgrounds in product analytics for developer-facing software and internal tooling. We bring facilitation skills for stakeholder readouts and enough instrumentation literacy to challenge noisy event designs—without pretending to replace your engineering team.

Clients are typically product leads, engineering managers, and analytics owners at studios or product groups shipping IDE extensions, CI helpers, portals, or internal build systems.
